Puerto Rico Bio Alliance
The Biotechnology (Cluster) Alliance is an operational structure within the Industry-University Research Consortium (INDUNIV), a non-profit organization established in 1985 with the purpose of promoting and catalyzing effective collaborative efforts to solve technical and scientific problems faced by science and technology industries and of the general concern of industry in Puerto Rico.

The Biotechnology Cluster Alliance was established in 2001 by INDUNIV and its representatives from industry, the University of Puerto Rico system and the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company. Its primary purpose is to coordinate efforts aimed at: promoting the incipient biotechnology industry; facilitating the establishment of research and technology transfer settings to strengthen Puerto Rico's capacity to produce high quality biotechnology products to meet world market demands; and propitiating the adoption of curricula and training programs to best prepare engineering, science and technology students to enter industry with knowledge and skills required to contribute to maintain Puerto Rico's operations as the most efficient and competitive world-wide.
