Membership in INDUNIV is open to representatives of industry, academia and government. Any industrial firm in the fields of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, electronics and related industries, as well as any private or public university in Puerto Rico, can become a regular, dues-paying member. Government is represented through the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company (PRIDCO).
INDUNIV is an inclusive organization that seeks to incorporate and benefit representatives from these industrial and academic sectors with a demonstrated commitment to foster a solid academic-industry collaborative environment, one that is conducive to innovation in focused technologies. During the fiscal year 2002-2003, INDUNIV’s Scientific Affairs Committee approved grants totaling $100,000 for three research projects. Over $2.7 million has been awarded to more than 70 research projects since 1989.
